Relationships thrive on honesty, communication, mutual caring, and time spent together. Loosing relationship leaves behind an emptiness that is overwhelming and the feelings of pain, loss & separation are difficult to bear. Maintaining & holding on to relationship that doesn't feel right, languishing in feelings of anger or resentment, investing time & energy attempting to fix the problem believing it will eventually change is quite stressful and draining. Consider whether the other person truly considers your feelings or if they are willing to change their behavior. While every relationship has its ups and downs, when there are more downs than ups or the two of you are bringing out the worst in each other, it may be time to ask yourself what you really want from the relationship. Be honest with yourself & your answers, even if the truth is painful. One may be afraid of hurting the other person or feel insecure but when relationship, no matter how passionate, adversely affects well-being and health, sever the connection. Ending such toxic relationship gives a chance to rediscover own interests, explore new passions, meet different people and nurture new relationship in the future.
